“There’s a diversity of quality original works on display and I hope they can be part of a long term exhibition that can be expanded in the near future. Some actually displayed that rare but well executed Asian identity which I find refreshing.
Overall I think this reflects well on the image & quality of Singapore design.
For a developed nation, we’re a nation with a surprising lack of identity and self esteem when it comes to aesthetics and art; from decision makers down to the masses, and I hope this exhibition together with a host of others in the Design Festival will spell the start of an awareness of good quality local design and celebrate a new chapter of confidence in the industry.”

Are you talking about a water pump shaped in the form of the Merlion? Interesting sermantics:)
Idea flash! What if all the drainage hole around Fullerton has the Merlion designed with it’s mouth open, appearing to suck in water. Great story if that water gets pumped out the actual Merlion mouth.

Actually we should turn this guy into a super hero. What super power would you give to our dear Merlion? Invisibility? Ability to suck and spit at the same time? We could design the super villain. A Singapore version of Godzilla !
