Hey Papas and Mamas, do you have one of these now for your kids? Or if you remember sitting in (not on) one of these when you could still fit, do share your experiences. Every time I come across one of these it never cease to bring on a smile of fond memories. In retrospect, its either endearing for those who had fun in it or sure torture for those who cried and scream to get out! Fast forward, I have yet to come across baby chairs in the market now that carry such an iconic representation of Asian practicality. Wah “chim” ah…

“I am really impressed by all the design works. Each design is unique and of good quality.
It was an excellent exhibition for me! I like the meaningful slogan of ‘Small Thoughts, Big Ideas’ and the illustrations.”

I use to sit in one of this when I was 3 or 4. Only way to keep me in it through my meals was to placed me in front of the TV
I think this is a great design because of it’s dual purpose use. My grandma use to sit on one when she was watching TV as a stool, come meal time for me, it gets tip over and “converts” into my dining-cum-TV couch.
Since it’s made of Bamboo, it is so much ‘greener’ then all the plastic ones from Ikea:)

My wife side have one that is passed down for a few families… When we see it, it always bring about alot of memories. It is so much more meaning and character.

Do keep them well, they are precious, especially difficult to find them now. I’m impressed that this humble 竹母子椅 (bamboo mother child seat) has such sentimental attachments to everyone. My nieces (now undergrads) grew up with this chair and my sister still has them. Anyone knows of furniture shops that carries them do inform me.
If anyone have photos of yourself as a child in it, would love to see it.
If you could still fit, that definitely must see!
If anyone knows its history, how it was designed, if its unique to Asia, its beginnings, please share!

what a beautiful design! Dual function and both function work perfectly, transformation from one function is simple and quick, age gracefully. These are the kind of properties very few modern designed item can match.
